We want to give a huge shout out to our Marching Band! This weekend at the Northwestern Band Fest, they took 1st place in their class, as well as best percussion and best Color Guard. They also received a superior rating and have qualified for State Marching Band Finals. This is a huge accomplishment! Congratulations!

The theme of the 2026-2027 school year for Norwood City Schools is "Stronger Together: The Fabric of Norwood". For 11 years, Chris has served Norwood High School as an Intervention Specialist, consistently demonstrating an unwavering commitment to student success and community building. Chris has contributed his time and talents to numerous initiatives, including serving as a lead on our PBIS team, actively participating in the Building Leadership Team and District Leadership Team, and most recently the LEAD Program. He runs both the Spirit Store and PBIS Store where he has built connections with community partners bringing in donations that benefit our students. Chris embodies the spirit of “Stronger Together” through his tireless work, collaborative spirit, and investment in the success of our school community.

Today, we celebrated our September Tribe Advisory Challenge winners in style! Congratulations to Ms. Cook's and Mr. Hale's advisory classes for achieving an outstanding 96% attendance rate for the month. They were treated to a red carpet celebration complete with delicious donuts from Golden Hands Bakery. A special thank you to our PBIS Team for their dedication and hard work in making this celebration possible!

We are thrilled to announce some important information for our 2026 Homecoming Dance, which will take place on Saturday, September 26th in the High School Cafeteria from 7:30pm-10:30pm.
First, the theme of the dance will be "A Night at the Cinema." We ask all students to dress in their red carpet finest as we bring the glitz and glamour of Hollywood right here to Norwood. All the stars will be there, so don't miss out on this A-List scene.
Secondly, tickets will go on sale next Monday, September 14th. Tickets will be sold out of Room 305 (next to the bridge) before school and during Advisory. Tickets will also be available for purchase in the Main Office after school. The price of the tickets will be $20 each, and the sales are non-refundable.
Finally, any students bringing dates from other schools must complete a guest form, which will be available both in Room 305 or the Main Office. These guest forms must be completed by Wednesday, September 23rd in order to be approved by Mr. Gabbard before the night of the dance.

This week we held Student Council Elections. Students gave speeches on why they wanted to be on Student Council and a goal they had for the school year. Thank you to Ms. Earl for organizing! We can't wait to see what these students accomplish!

Welcome back, Indians! We are excited to begin another outstanding year at Norwood High School.
As a community, we take great pride in demonstrating Norwood Pride in being respectful, responsible, and a problem solver every day…whether in the classroom, at school events, on the athletic field, or throughout our community. This school year is filled with opportunities for you to learn, grow, lead, and make meaningful connections. From engaging classroom experiences to clubs, athletics, arts, and extracurricular activities, there is something for everyone. We encourage you to get involved and make the most of all that Norwood High School has to offer.
Our dedicated teachers, staff, and administrators are committed to supporting our students every step of the way. We are here to help challenge each student in setting ambitious goals and achieve success both academically and personally. Norwood High School has a long-standing tradition of excellence, and together we will continue building on that legacy by creating opportunities that prepare students for success beyond graduation. We’ve added some new staff this year: Susie Roebel, Assistant Principal, Armand Tatum, Health, Physical Education, Katie Donovan, Intervention Specialist, and Kaitlyn Richter, Counselor.
Norwood is Stronger Together because of all involved in helping promote success in each student. We encourage your support in and out of the classroom and we would like to inform you of some of our upcoming events:
Progressbook Keys are being emailed to each parent to login and access your student’s information including: Bell Schedules, Grades, Attendance, Progress Reports, and Report Cards. Be sure to sign up so you can get daily update of your student’s progress.
9 Grade Orientation: Tuesday, August 18 from 3-4 PM (parents encouraged th th to attend)
Parent Information Night: Tuesday, August 18th from 4-7:30 PM
1st Day of School: Thursday, August 20th , Doors open at 7:45 AM
We ask that all Final Forms be completed before school starts, as this is part of a State Mandate and District Policy that we have updated student information each and every year.
